The Government is reviewing duties on imported food with the aim of reducing these charges.

The Government is investing in research and development (R&D) to build resilience and sustainability in agriculture.

The investment includes the previously announced expenditure of $6.3 billion, over the next six years, in the renovation of Bodles in St. Catherine and other research facilities across the island.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Mining invites registered entities to make applications through its online trade portal at http://www.moatrade.gov.jm for the importation of chicken backs and necks. The period for applications under the revised regime will run from April 1 to April 8, 2025. Qualified entities will be contacted regarding these items.
